Masonry & Foundations

Backyard Cabin — Foundation to Finish

A complete ground-up build — we started with a reinforced concrete pad (pressure-treated forms, vapor barrier, crushed stone base, and a heavy-duty rebar grid), then laid a cinder block foundation knee wall around the slab. From there we framed the structure, wrapped it in cedar shake siding with a natural stacked-stone veneer base, and finished it with a modern shed roof, large black-trim windows, and a craftsman-style sage green entry door.

This Bronx flat roof was leaking and badly weathered. We cleaned and prepped the surface, sealed every crack and seam with reinforced flashing cement, then applied a fresh white elastomeric coating to waterproof the roof and reflect heat — extending its lifespan by years.
